About the Yoginis and the Retreat
A retreat is the ideal context for having time to observe how comfortable one is in one's life journey. Your body may be telling you that it needs more attention and care, hence the practice of asanas will help to strengthen, relax and allow more flexibility. You may come to a point when you realize that your mind has driven you in behavioural patterns or situations that are not reflecting who you truly are, hence meditation and yoga nidra will break this pattern. A retreat is designed to facilitate a holistic approach to one's health, for the state of "Santosha" to manifests. Santosh ( संतोष ) means contentment, it is a state that needs to be truly sincere for it to create transformation. Contentment is an expression of Shakti, the power within.
Although I am facilitating the work in a retreat, I know that it is the energy of each of us and the group as a whole that is 'THE TEACHER', hence I remain an observer and a listener on many occasions, and use the skills that I have developed through many years of teaching and personal practice to interpret the symbols that manifest during such events.
The Yoginis are guiding forces that show the path to non-duality, and embody the female energy in many representations. The ancient cult of the Yoginis, dating approximately back between 6th - 12th century, got lost in time but the power of the Yoginis never truly disappeared, as Energy always carries on flowing. From time to time the Yoginis re-appear as spiritual guides, and they often manifest when a circle is created, as within the context of this retreat.
Working with the Yoginis can be very therapeutic, healing and empowering. The sessions of Hatha Yoga, Pranayama and Meditation that I teach are all important tools for facilitating a supportive and nourishing backdrop to help go deeper within oneself. Personal experience has proved to me again and again that when you decide to walk a spiritual path the first prerequisite step is PATIENCE! A sadhana operates in a different time scale than our ordinary day to day life, and we need to employ a different thinking and reaction to what we are used to; it is challenging but it is worth it.
I look forward to sharing this work with you and welcome you to the new retreat that I will be teaching in Sweden, in collaboration with MadhuraLife. Please take a moment to look at the program and location should you be interested. Thank you.
Om Shanti,
Marianne
