TRATAKAM & MUDRAS MEDITATION 6.30 - 8pm £15 per session This workshop is similar to the Sunday before, but will have a few variations. It will focus on the ancient practice of TRATAKAM (the steady gaze) that helps at developing intuition, activating the psychic centers, as well as having a therapeutic effect on blocked emotions.
We will also practice short meditations, using MUDRAS (hand gestures) to activate specific psychic centers and balance the pranic flow. The mudras will be kept simple therefore manageable by everyone. However if you have severe arthritis in the fingers you may be limited. It will still be possible to benefit from the meditation practice, using a more simple mudra. This workshop is suitable to those who wish to take their yoga practice to a more subtle level, and to incorporate the tools in their everyday life. |
SUNDAY 4th February 2024
THE MEDITATIVE LINE 4.30 - 6.30pm £20 per session This workshop will focus on silencing the mind through the action of drawing repetitive lines and colouring. It will consist of 3 parts:
1. Using Ayurveda as a base you will explore the colours that either pacify, energize, or ground your mind in order to reach a more balanced state. This will be followed by a short guided relaxation. 2. Working in total silence for 15 mins at a time you will use meditative line drawing and your chosen palette (recommended during phase 1) to unlock the creative energy within you. 3. Participants will share their work afterwards, and discussion will allow new ideas / materials to emerge, in order for you to continue by yourself in your own time at home. The session will end with a short healing meditation. You do not need to know how to draw or paint for this workshop, as it is not about producing artwork (though you might surprise yourself at what you've done!).
