    CLASSES IN EAST LONDON:

    THE TEACHING
    The classes are taught creatively as a series of asanas of various
    levels to release inner tension, while focusing on the flow/control of Prana on
    a subtle level.  I encourage students to keep their eyes closed as often as possible so
    the meditative awareness can help the connection with the higher
    Self when practicing.

    Different techniques of Pranayama are taught over the weeks and are
    intended to restore energy and mental calmness.  Each class ends with
    a relaxation in Savasana that trains you to let go of all tensions and induces a state of
    peace and well-being. Regular practice gradually allow yoga to merge in
    all aspects of your life (sadhana), and as you develop intuition and awareness
    you realize the quality of your true nature.

    I teach Yoga influenced by my spiritual path of Shakti sadhana. I have
    a great affinity with the Das Mahavidyas on a personal level but do not yet
    include this subject in my teaching. Over the years I have experienced many
    styles of Yoga but I was never able to embrace one specific school of teaching
    as they all seemed to limit my own development.
    Every day is a different day; every lesson is a different lesson. I am no more than an instrument for
    Shakti to manifest yet I work with an under-current structure binding the asanas
    together, allowing the mind to reach a state of equilibrium (samatha) and Peace
    (Shanti).

    MEDITATION
    Creative and enjoyable techniques to still the mind and connect with
    the deeper Self. Meditation is an excellent way for reducing stress and
    encouraging creativity. The sessions will include techniques of concentration,
    often focusing on the chakras, the elements and the senses. References to the
    "Vijnana Bhairava Tantra" and "Spandakarika" are often made during
    the class.

    Yoga is a path that has to reflect in your every day life. 
    It is your state of awareness that will bring constructive changes in the way you move through life and help you deal with the challenges that we all have to face at various levels.  This can only come with regular practice and dedication to the subject.
    Your goal will set your results.  If your goal is only to keep fit, Yoga can give you this but your awareness will also stay at this level.  If your goal is to develop and harness the power of Peace or inner  strength, Yoga can give you this also... the intention behind the practice is of utmost importance.  The classical texts often compare the yogi to a warrior and state that the path is difficult, yet the rewards are unlimited to the one who has the courage to keep treading the path with faith. The practice will feed  the interest and the unfolding within the heart.  It is about exploring all your  potentials and realizing that change is possible, that the mind may have set  unnecessary limits in the past on what you can do either physically, mentally and spiritually.
