These photos were taken in India. In a land where all the great Cosmic forces are worshiped daily it is very common to find small shrines along the side roads, or even unexpected places, as well as in proper temples. The representation of these Gods and Goddesses may at times have frightening expression, but it is our choice to move beyond our fears and see the Divine in all aspects of creation. The Tantric approach helps us to move beyond the limits of the ego by embracing everything and everyone with the same equanimity, burning all our preconceptions and limited awareness in the fire of inner-knowledge. Sadhana at the feet of these deities may be very powerful and intense. It is said that "Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder", the photos that I have taken below are only a few of the many shrines I have come across while travelling, and I never fail to see the beauty in all of them. Om Namah Shivaya!
