ABHYANGA is a preventive and therapeutic method of ayurvedic massage using specific oils and macerated herbs in order to restore health by cleansing and rejuvenating the system.It aims at rebalancing the doshas (the three forces) which are in a unique proportion according to each person.It is ideal for removing toxins (called “Ama” in sanksrit), digestive problems, insomnia, skin problems and other ailments.
Before each session the therapist will need to understand and assess your prakriti (constitution) and vikriti (imbalance) in order to give a treatment that is specific and unique to you. Ayurvedic nutritional and lifestyle advice will also be part of the treatment.
